About Us
Eric Morris has spent twenty years at the centre of the compliance software industry. Not studying it from the outside, but building products, designing go-to-market strategies, integrating acquisitions, and sitting across the table from the customers and competitors that shaped the market as it exists today. That tenure spans the most significant businesses in the EHS, ESG and quality management landscape, including Sphera, Veeva, ComplianceQuest, Cority, Intelex and IHS Markit. Across those organisations, the work was always a variation of the same challenge: take a software business through an inflection point and be accountable for the outcome.
Early on, the questions were product and technical. Later, they became commercial and strategic. Throughout, they remained specific to this industry: its regulatory dynamics, its buyer psychology, its competitive rhythms, and the distance between what vendors claim in a sales process and what customers experience after go-live. That distance is not theoretical. It is the product of over fifty global EHS and sustainability software deployments, across industries and geographies. The expertise is not learned from analyst reports or market maps, it comes from having been on both sides, repeatedly, across every major platform in the category.
In recent years, Eric's operating experience has converged with a formal and applied expertise in artificial intelligence. He holds an M. Eng in Machine Learning and AI, and is co-founder of Hypertrain.ai, an AI-native chemical risk intelligence platform built on the premise that the next generation of compliance software will look nothing like the current one. That position at the frontier gives Hypertrain Consulting something no retrospective analysis can provide: a grounded, technical view of which AI capabilities in today's vendor landscape are genuinely differentiated, which are cosmetic, and which represent a real shift in the competitive map that investors should be pricing into their thesis today.
The accumulated perspective across operations, markets and technology is the foundation of Hypertrain Consulting. Investors evaluating transactions in this space are rarely short of information. They are short of informed judgment about what that information means. Eric brings the kind of practitioner intelligence that only two decades of direct operating experience in a single industry can produce, supported by a network of former operators, technical architects and regulatory specialists who have shaped this landscape alongside him. The result is a due diligence capability that no generalist firm can replicate, and a post-investment operating partner who has already solved the problems your portfolio company is about to face.

"The target ticks all the traditional boxes required of a traditional EHS system. The technology stack seems sound, with a many popular choices made. AI demos well and could be a positive differentiator in Mid Market win rate — but could get a significant boost if adopted by an Enterprise company and publicized."
